If you are into Dark fantasy shows or Manga like Berserk, Soul Eater, Deadman Wonderland then I highly recommend Claymore.

When a shapeshifting demon with a thirst for human flesh, known as "youma," arrives in Raki's village, a lone woman with silver eyes walks into town with only a sword upon her back. She is a "Claymore," a being manufactured as half-human and half- youma, for the express purpose of exterminating these monsters. After Raki's family is killed, the Claymore saves his life, but he is subsequently banished from his home. With nowhere else to go, Raki finds the Claymore, known as Clare, and decides to follow her on her journeys.

As the pair travel from town to town, defeating youma along the way, more about Clare's organization and her fellow warriors comes to light.

With every town cleansed and every demon destroyed, they come closer to the youma on which Clare has sought vengeance ever since she chose to become a Claymore.

What I particularly enjoyed about this anime was the characters. I enjoyed the fact that it was an all-female cast, they were not used as fan service, just strong, badass, goal driven woman who kills monsters. They didn’t wear skimpy outfits it was awesome to just watch and enjoy them being main characters, powerful and they didn’t need to be saved.

It was also great to see that they depended on themselves. This was because we are used to the female characters who are used as just “Fan Service” or the victims that are being rescued by the all-powerful male characters but tell a great story. I also enjoyed the fact that it is set in a medieval time and these women look like knights killing evil monsters, and dragons, honestly it was a great joy without revealing too much but I loved the story.

I loved all the characters they all brought a and shared a compelling story and had so much strength. But if I really had to pick I would say Teresa the Faint, she was an amazing character and I loved it when she said “Sorry But I don’t feel like dying yet” I mean not like those fellow Claymore stood a chance to kill her in the first place, she was just doing them a favour, by being compliant to the rules. I loved that scene because it shows that once you have something to live for, something to fight for or that makes you happy you don’t just quit, you just keep going and living your best life.

I also loved Claire the main character, she is duty bound, hard working and though it is due to seeking she still managed to still be kind, and not let hate/revenge completely consume her she still finds a way to be kind and compassionate towards Raki.

The anime kept me on my toes that were my favorites were The fighting scenes were my favorite, they had great action sequences, the story was awesome and I loved that things don’t always go according to plan which I find kept my attention and kept me wanting to know more and to see example when Claire and Ophelia met.

Oh gosh!!, My heart sank and really could sense Ophelia’s presence that is one Bad ass woman, like run girl run away.

I also enjoyed Claire’s back story where we got to meet Teresa and see how Claire became a Claymore and following the path of becoming stronger in order to get revenge for her dear friend. That moment shock me to my core because well you don’t expect the strongest character to go down like that.

On the other hand I was unhappy with a few things such as the ending which was a little lame for me, it would have been better if the last fight had an actual winner then we would have been satisfied with the fight , it was a weak ending for me , I am hoping it has a 2^nd season to tie up the loose ends.

I would have liked it better if we knew how the claymores power up or how they become number one. So that we have hope and know how Claire can rise up the ranks and become number 1 like her other claymores.

This series does have so much potential and I am hoping it concludes “properly”.

I would have liked it if they went into more detail about the organisation and how they created the Claymores and we would also understand why the awakened Claymores are hunted by the organization.

Overall I would say the anime is about self-discovery I loved that Clare was introduced to us as an icy cold person who was just focused on her duty. We also get to see he backstory, how she used to be a girl who could not talk and grew to speak more confident due to the people around her, we see her grow to be an icy cold warrior focusing on her job and her path of revenge.

I enjoyed seeing her character development as she warms up to Raki and this encourages her to grow and become a skilled fighter who is driven by revenge but also the will to live so that her goal is achieved. Beautiful character development. I really did not want this to end as it was just so badass and a breath of fresh air from the stereotypical female anime characters.

These women are half-demons, wield huge swords, and kill gruesome scary Yuma in ways traditionally Male characters are shown doing. Yes, it does have major flaws but it Is just too badass to ignore.

5/5 for Motivation and Inspiration, I highly recommend.

Konnichiwa Minna San, Happy 2018, I know I am like so behind (oh, like 3 months behind, Yikes!!)

Honestly, I have been busy working and there hasn't been much time to watch anime recently, but I am not back and ready to be with you guys, I really have missed you all and blogging.

I promise no more long breaks, If I am taking I break I will let you all know.: )

So this winter anime season I have noticed, Netflix has had some good shows, for example, Devil man crybaby, B the beginning, plus many more that I am yet to explore and share with you guys.

One of the shows that caught my attention was Killing Bites, an easy going show filled with action, blood, gore and plenty of “Panstu”

T and the trailer was of-course lit so I had to check it out. This anime season has been fairly dry, too many slow, soft cute shows, the trailer for Killing Bites it gave me the action I had been craving.

he story line was interesting

Plot

People have been created that are human-animal hybrids, and powerful businesses bet on the outcome of their duels. College student Nomoto Yuuya's casual acquaintances ask him to drive them around to pick up girls one day, which he soon finds out means by force. The girl they kidnap is an animal-human hybrid named Hitomi, who slaughters all of them except Yuuya. Hitomi is a honey badger, which has been called the most fearless of all animals. Now Hitomi is assigned to stay with Yuuya, for his protection!

What I loved

One of the few things I loved about this show were:

When they shared more about the animals, it turned it the animal documentary,
so we learnt some interesting facts about the animals such as the Pangolin.
The fight/action scenes were Epic.
They gave plenty of Fan-service, for those who are into that.

Characters

Uzaki Hitomi is one of the protagonists of the Killing Bites. After a rather fateful meeting with Nomoto Yuuya.A born therianthrope, she says that she has never experienced fear. Overall, Hitomi is a hot-blooded fearsome fighter.

Nomoto Yuuya the college student who is accommodating Hitomi, I felt sorry for him he is an abusive “friendship”. He is another fine example of Stockholm Syndrome at its finest (not sure why this is being made to be ok ):/ He is a very chilled out guy and he learns to believe in himself after meeting Hotomi and seeing her push to achieve her goals.

Animation

The animation was average, not too bad but the CG was very obvious and it sucked.

If I had to score it, I would give it a 3.5.

Killing bites to me was I guess what I would call a guilty pleasure. the show wasn’t amazing but it was ok. The show served its purpose which was to entertain, but the first 5 minutes of the show were trash like who starts a show with an attempted kidnapping & attempted rape of a school girl? So that completely made it lose points without trying to find the bad.

The graphics were good, the CG ruined most of the fight scenes and it was so obvious so it turned me off.

This was one of the worst/best shows this season as there have been too many slow, cute shows which personally bored to tears. The action is what made the anime, I’m sure others would argue to say the fan-service also contributed. I found it annoying that the main character keeps repeating “The one with the sharper fangs wins, That's what killing bites is.” It became very annoying. Plus they don't even explain what “KILLING BITES IS??”

It was OK, I didn’t have any high hope after the first episode but things got worse and it didn’t have much creativity, same ecchi stuff, give us a break with the whole accidental boob grabbing.

So if you are looking for great storyline, character development look elsewhere this is not the show for you.

Ao-No Exorcist| Blue Exorcist Season 2.

After years of praying, hoping and patiently waiting for a season 2 of Blue exorcist & finally, our wishes were heard.

Blue exorcist Season 2 is finally back on our screens and honestly, it was awesome to see this show again after many years. I enjoyed the first episode and just from that 1 episode I can see that there have been major improvements.

I loved the animation and art have improved a lot compared to the first series. The colors are more vivid, the animation has a great flow to it and everything is looking Awesome!!

The opening song and the music throughout were great. I hope this season lives up to everyone's expectations and doesn't disappoint us.

Although there has been a major development in the animation and the art some things have remained the same like our main character Rin. In the first episode I I loved Rin's determination, to save that kid and be a hero, it reminded me of why I loved Rin as a character, his ambitions and always wanting to prove himself.

It was also great to see that Yukio has not changed much either, he still is the realist one and tells his brother to chill.

It was also great to see Bon, Shiemi and the rest of the gang, really nostalgic after so many years. I don't know about you, but I was completely caught off guard when the was gang is ignoring Rin because they have found out he is the devil's son.

Yes crazy I know, I was like "wait didn’t we get past that like on the previous season"? Everyone scared of him but Izumo, she just accepted him and cheered him up, Eyebrow girl, u r amazing :) It is unfair how they treated him have they forgot Yukio is the son of satan too, will he get the same treatment?

From what I understand, this season is going to adapt the manga, so this season will continue from Rin's rampage in season 1 and is continuing from there, we have to disregard everything we saw in season one after Rin had his rampage and all those other awesome things that happened. I guess it would explain why everyone is scared of Rin in this season.

Unfortunately, I haven’t read the manga but I’m excited to see the season play out. I hope you are also enjoying this season on Blue Exorcist, let me know your thoughts :)
